Save YouTube videos to your PC

Have you ever watched a YouTube video and wanted to save it to your computer? well now you can save it, here's how:

  1. 1st, you need an FLV player. The videos are downloaded as .flv file, Flash Video file. I am using FLV Player which I found on download.com at: http://www.download.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10467081.html
  2. go to YouTube.com and find the video you want. Click on it to play. The address (URL) would be something like:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-PpU8MUbHE
  3. either replace the first part of the address www.youtube.com with www.kissyoutube.com
or copy the address and go to www.kissyoutube.com
  4. click the Download button and the file is saved to your computer
  5. rename the file to myfilename.flv
you can replace "myfilename" with whatever you want, but the file must have a .flv extension
  6. now the file is ready to be played on your computer using the FLV player that you downloaded.

Well, you could use keepvid.com or a firefox plugin that saves all the time.
